Every Drop Matters

Team Eco Titans’ Super-mileage Vehicle

Team Eco Titans is a competitive automotive team - they build prototype vehicles that demonstrate an extraordinarily high mileage, to participate at the Shell EcoMarathon competition held annually in Asia.

As a designer on the team, I pioneered a radical shift in the vehicle’s design, working on sketching, 3D CAD modeling, CFD flow analysis and fabrication using carbon fiber, glass fiber reinforced plastics & PU foam sandwich composites. I was also involved in procuring components and materials, besides managing PR campaigns & digital marketing.

The 2015 vehicle achieved a mileage of 340 mpg. It was the first time the team had created vehicle with a carbon fiber monocoque, with a distinct teardrop shape, unexposed wheels and a remarkably low drag coefficient. The team also won an award for Communications at the competition, held in Manila in 2015.
